A community health nurse’s primary goal is to improve the health of the community. This entails assessing the community’s health and identifying its needs using demographic and epidemiological data. This assessment is related to the module goal “Discuss the elements of practice in community/public health nursing.”

Gather information about your county and compare it to state and national numbers using the websites listed below and other websites (you can also do a Google search to find the health data you’re looking for).
