Explain how the four components of your example work together to form the foundation for a testable theory.
Theories are made up of ideas that attempt to structure thought around a specific event. This week’s readings introduce the concepts of phenomena, concepts, propositions, and assumptions. This assignment is intended to help you think about those four aspects and explain the connections between them in order to strengthen your understanding of the theoretical foundations and working parts.
Define the four terms phenomena, concept, preposition, and assumptions in your own words, citing at least one source.
Examine your definitions and consider an example from your daily life or practice experience that incorporates each of the four concepts.
Falls, for example, are a common occurrence in clinical practice. A related idea is that dementia patients are at a higher risk of falling. A related hypothesis is that dementia is linked to falling in some way. One underlying assumption is that dementia patients do not intend to fall.
Explain how the four components of your example work together to form the foundation for a testable theory.
Cite at least two sources in the text and on an APA-formatted reference page. 1100 words is required.
