Attend a meeting of Massachusetts board of nursing (many now record their meetings or have them on local public TV) or its district or state nurses’ association.

1. Identify issues discussed.
2. Evaluate the usefulness of the session to your practice.
3. Compare the role of Massachusetts BON with the role of your professional nursing organizations in regulating professional practice.
4. Identify one public policy issue that was address at the meeting. What is the role of nursing in this public policy issue? Critique the utility of the public policy issue to nursing.
