The first step in the evidence-based practice process is to assess a nursing practice environment in order to identify a nursing problem in the clinical setting. When a nursing practice problem is identified, the nurse researcher creates a clinical guiding question to address it.

You will create a clinical guiding question known as a PICOT question for this assignment. The PICOT question must be related to a problem in nursing practice. Identify six peer-reviewed research articles to support your PICOT question, as indicated below. The PICOT question you select, as well as six peer-reviewed research articles, will be used in subsequent assignments.

To complete this assignment, consult the “Literature Evaluation Table.”

Choose an interesting nursing practice problem to focus your research on. Begin with the patient population and identify a clinical problem or issue that arises from it. Provide a summary of the clinical issue in 200—250 words.
Write a PICOT question in your chosen nursing practice problem area of interest, using the PICOT format. The PICOT question should be relevant to your capstone project proposal (the project students must complete during their final course in the RN-BSN program of study).
The PICOT question will serve as the foundation for your capstone project.
Conduct a literature search to find six research articles that are relevant to your chosen nursing practice problem of interest. To support your nursing practice problem, conduct a literature search that includes three quantitative and three qualitative peer-reviewed research articles.
