What resources and/or experts are available to help YOU achieve your goal?
Remember that finishing this TD is essential for assisting you with the Week 4 Assignment, My Leadership Development SMART Goal. Use the format below to create a SMART leadership goal for YOU, not your organization or department. The goal must be related to AT LEAST ONE of the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) quality initiatives, which include five core healthcare profession competencies. Your assignment, however, focuses on only two of the initiatives. Patient-Centered Care or Working in Interdisciplinary and/or Interprofessional Teams are examples of these. One of these competencies will serve as a framework for determining your leadership objective.
NOTE: You have a choice between patient-centered care and working in interdisciplinary and/or interprofessional teams.
Format of SMART Goals:
S—Specific (Who else is involved in your goal, what your goal is, and where will it take place?)
M—Measurable (How will YOU achieve the goal?)
A—Achievable (What resources and/or experts are available to help YOU achieve your goal?)
R—Realistic (Is YOUR goal something that YOU can realistically achieve in YOUR professional practice? Explain.)
T—Time-bound (By what dates or weeks will YOU complete each task related to YOUR leadership goal?)
Again, the focus of this goal is on YOUR leadership development…
not a SMART goal for your department or employer
