Because of concerns about the nursing workforce shortage and the continued cost escalation in the health care industry, it is critical that we understand how to manage the â€oedelegation†aspect of the nursing role in order to fulfil the accountability outlined in the RN Scope of Practice. During a busy shift, the RNâ€2s work environment changes, and each situation must be evaluated differently. With this in mind, delegation is difficult, frequently misunderstood, and not used as effectively as it could be. What factors should be considered when delegating? Give an example of a time when you delegated a task and it went as planned or did not go as planned. Did you make use of your leadership abilities? What did you learn from your delegation experience, and how can you improve your delegation skills, if your delegation experience did not go as planned? Give at least one example from your readings and validate it with at least one nursing research (peer reviewed) article. Your response should be 1-2 pages long, APA formatted (no abstracts please), and include a title page and a reference page. (You may use any previously assigned materials for scholarly references.)
