Make a choice from one or more leadership topics in your textbook or from a peer-reviewed scholarly source from a previous discussion or assignment in this course and write about how it applies to nursing practice. Defining terms, a brief history/background, and the main concepts of the chosen topic are required. Analyze and describe at least three different nursing roles in order to describe the topic’s function in nursing practice (for example, bedside nurse, public health nurse, CNO, unit manager, etc.). Discuss how the topic of leadership can be applied to your own professional practice. Disseminate your personal development in relation to your chosen leadership topic. Personal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to your career advancement should all be considered.

Then, talk about the top three characteristics you believe make a good nurse leader. Provide examples from your practice experience as well as from scholarly sources to support your claims.

Expectations for the assignment:

The length ranges from 1750 to 2000 words.

Include an APA-formatted title page and reference page at the beginning of your paper. There is no requirement for these to be included in the minimum word count for this assignment. Both an introduction and a conclusion must be included in your essay.

References: Include appropriate APA style in-text citations and references for all resources that were used to answer the questions in your response. It is necessary to use a minimum of three scholarly sources in addition to the textbook.
