Describe how nursing could intervene or advocate for more effective incorporation of legal and ethical theories and principles into practice.
Among other stakeholders, the registered nurse must put legal and ethical theories and principles into practice. There is a need to evaluate the current legal and ethical considerations in healthcare, to assess nursing’s role in health initiatives, and to find ways to help improve health and health outcomes. This presentation will assist nurses in recognizing and responding to dilemmas in a variety of health care settings and nursing roles. This presentation will provide an overview of regulatory action as well as legislative and judicial processes, allowing nurses to become acquainted with changes affecting the health care system such as patient rights, technological advancements, and managed care.
This presentation will look at the nurse’s role as a health professional, advocate, and leader:
Choose five legal or ethical concepts that you believe have an impact on nursing practice.
Explain the selected concepts in terms of their impact on both agency viability and patient care quality.
Examine the selected concepts and conduct a strategic analysis for priorities, challenges, and issues from a legal and ethical standpoint.
Identify instances of actions taken by an agency or provider that would or could violate a health care provider’s ethical duties and responsibilities or a patient’s rights.
Create a policy proposal, measures, and recommendations for avoiding legal and ethical blunders.
Describe how nursing could intervene or advocate for more effective incorporation of legal and ethical theories and principles into practice.

Use graphics or charts to emphasize the topic of your slide. The use of illustrations also allows your audience to take a break from the wordiness of PowerPoints.
Write down and read your narrations for your presentation to help with tone and tempo.
Record your narration in a room where background noise will not be picked up.
Despite the fact that I am not colorblind, this is something you might consider for future presentations (and something I learned from experience). Avoid using red and green in your presentations because approximately 8% of men and 0.5 percent of women are colorblind (National Eye Institute, 2015).
