Write a 1000-1500 word essay addressing each of the points/questions listed below. Make certain that you completely answer all of the questions for each bullet point. There should be three major sections, one for each of the bullet points below. Separate each section of your paper with a clear heading that lets your professor know which bullet you’re addressing in that section. Cite at least five (5) sources to back up your points in your essay. For the essay, make sure to cite using the APA writing style. The correct APA cover page and reference page do not count toward the minimum word count. Examine the assignment’s rubric criteria.

Determine a clinical question relevant to your work environment, write it in PICOT format, and conduct a literature search on the identified topic.

Purpose

To teach the student how to identify a clinical question related to a specific area of practice and how to use medical and nursing databases to find research articles that will provide evidence to validate nursing interventions in a specific area of nursing practice.

As a starting point for your literature search, refer to the Application Case Study for Chapter 3: Finding Relevant Evidence to Answer Clinical Questions.

Guidelines

Identify a clinical question relevant to your area of clinical practice and write the clinical foreground question in PICOT format, using the worksheet tool as a guide.
Describe why this is a clinical issue or a chance to improve health outcomes in your area of clinical practice. Conduct a literature search and choose five research articles on your topic from the databases mentioned in Chapter 3 of the textbook (Melnyk and Finout-Overholt, 2015).
Determine which article best supports nursing interventions for your topic. As you compare the article to the other four found in the literature search, explain why this one best supports your topic.
Expectations for the assignment:

Word Count: 1000 – 1500
Include an APA-formatted title page and reference page. These do not count toward the assignment’s minimum word count. An introduction and a conclusion are required for your essay.
References: For all resources used to answer the questions, use appropriate APA style in-text citations and references. This assignment requires a minimum of five (5) scholarly sources to support the topic.
This assignment is graded using a rubric. Please go over it as part of your assignment preparation and again before submitting it to ensure you have addressed all of its criteria to the best of your ability.
