Create a presentation that describes a healthcare education tool for a specific health need of a different population than your own.

The presentation should include:

Determine the population and how it differs from your own.
Discuss the significance of the health requirement.
Determine the unique learning challenges that this population faces.
Include a description of the tool used to teach the information as well as an explanation of how it works.
Discuss how the literature supports your chosen technology’s use.
Explain how the tool aids critical thinking.
Describe how the tool improves nursing practice and patient outcomes.
Guidelines

1. Select a population that is distinct from your own. For example, if you are a 25-year-old woman who is a US citizen and only speaks English, select an older male patient who is of a different race, culture, or ethnicity and speaks limited English).

Determine the population and how it differs from your own.
Discuss the significance of the health requirement. For this demographic. For example, because there is an increased incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the teen population, there is a need for a tool to address the special needs of this population.
Determine the unique learning challenges that this population faces. Income, sensory impairment, and language are a few examples.
2. Create a teaching tool: Make use of technology and multimedia in your tool. Texts, Twitter, blogs, email, YouTube video, video-conferencing, Skype, computer or cell phone app, electronic brochures, and electronic booklets are just a few examples.

Include a description of the tool that will be used to teach the information. You are not required to create the tool, but you must explain how it works. For example, your tool could be a website, but you don’t have to build it.
3. Deliberation:

Discuss how the literature backs up your use of the technology you’ve chosen.
Describe how the tool contributes to critical thinking and what skills it fosters.
Describe how the tool improves nursing practice and patient outcomes.

A description of the disease’s pathogenesis
What the client can expect as a result of the disease
Extraneous information; for example, if you’re making a tool for lung cancer patients, don’t include statistics about lunch cancer unless it’s part of your tool.
