It’s time to take stock of your situation and ask yourself some questions. What is your long-term career goal? Be specific and truthful. What kind of job do you want to have? What are your immediate and long-term objectives? (give timeline). What are the most significant aspects of your search? Talk about your pay, vacation, sick leave, CME allowance, medical benefits, retirement, and other goals. Perhaps you specialize in managing chronic conditions in adults over the age of 65.
Then, explain your ideal work environment. Is it a small-town clinic or a large-city trauma center? What is the demographic of the patients you want to reach? Do you have a unique interest in a certain group of people or a field of study? What kind of schedule are you looking for? What are your current professional priorities? In five years, where do you see your career going?
How do you intend to conduct your research (whether you’re looking for a job or an independent practice site)? List numerous options, including job fairs, the Internet, and medical staffing organizations.
Today’s healthcare provider must be able to network. Talk about your networking ideas. What resources on the Internet could you use to network and connect with other healthcare professionals?
What methods will you use to prepare for the interview? What specific steps are you planning to take?
Assume you’re launching your own practice. What kind of people will it serve? What strategy will you use to promote your practice? What kind of people will you require? What method will you use to secure funding? Will you be open during the evenings and weekends to accommodate working patients? Will you be the single provider or will you enlist the assistance of others?
Make sure to read the Assignment description carefully (as seen above) and organize your paper according to the APA 6th Edition format for organization, style, and citations. References written after 2013 should not be used.
