What do the metrics used in the balanced scorecard and dashboard mean for my organization and nursing practice?
To get ready, do the following:
Take a look at the various applications of scorecards and dashboards that were presented in this week’s Learning Resources and media presentation.
Consider the impact that these measurement systems and measurement methods have on organizational goal setting in the areas of overall performance and financial stability, for example.
Examine the key performance indicators that are used in scorecards and dashboards, as well as the external quality standards to which they are held up in comparison.
Consider the following question: What do the metrics used in the balanced scorecard and dashboard mean for my organization and nursing practice? Has my organization established goals for these metrics, and are these goals being met at the time of this writing?
By the third day,
Create an organized scholarly response that addresses the following points:
Any setting can be used to describe the extent to which the patient’s experience of care is measured and tracked, as well as the goals that are set for improvement.
Examine whether or not goals for these metrics have been established at your organization, and whether or not they are currently being met in practice.
Describe some of the controversial issues that have arisen or will arise in the future. How has CAHPS or HCAHPS had an impact in the setting described above, for example (if applicable).
